Single-point Recording Current Meters (RCM)
Three basic single-point Recording Current Meter platforms are available, our lightweight (RCM 9 LW),
intermediate weight (RCM 9 IW) and our deep-water version (RCM 11):
RCM 9 LW - Maximum Depth rating 300 meters
RCM 9 IW - Maximum Depth rating 2000 meters
RCM 11 - Maximum Depth rating 6000 meters
Each current meter includes, as standard, Aanderaa Data Instrument's well proven Doppler Current
Sensor (DCS) with a range of 0 to 300 cm/s and accuracy of 0.15 cm/s with a nominal standard
deviation of 0.45 cm/s.
Each single-point RCM may be fitted with a range of optional sensors and auxilliary equipment for
added versatility and utility. The DCS is based on a balanced oscillator design and needs no
recalibration over its life time.
